Free resources for Civics, Government and Politics, and Political Science Educators
When I first started teaching civics, I found myself frustrated by the lack of quality resources. And the good resources out there were not specific to the political science discipline - they often just mimicked historical lessons.
I wanted to create a library of the resources that I have developed as a teacher that train students to think like political scientists - and that train them in discipline-specific skills that differ from history. I created these resources based on my experience as a high school teacher and a graduate (and undergraduate) student of political science.
At the same time, I also wanted to create activities that got students excited about political science concepts. So, I also created a series of games that teach students to think critical about First Past the Post elections, the “race to the bottom,” and more.
After using these resources, high school and introductory college-level students will be ready to enter into political science major classes and conduct college-level political science research.
